ZWave is a mesh technology but sometimes the layout of your house, the location(s) of devices, or the distance between them, just don’t allow the mesh network to be 100% reliable without the help of some extra repeating.

The Aeotec ZW189 Gen7 Range Extender plugs into a wall outlet where the signal is still strong enough and extends the range by repeating the Zwave signal.

ZW189 supports all ZWave devices and gateways up to Gen7 and includes older ZWave devices, ZWave Plus 500 series, and ZWave 700 series devices.

It also supports S0 security and S2 security.

This is an upgrade to the ZW117 which is no longer available.

It’s designed to be powerful yet small enough to not block other outlets in a receptacle.
